Women Who Rape
6 Sept 1997
UPI
TRENTON, NJ - Megan's Law applies to women as well as male sex offenders,
and a state appeals court has confirmed a high-risk classification for a
woman convicted of sex assault. According to appeals cases seen in the past
year, the woman, identified only as ``I. K,'' may be the first female
offender classified for full-scale notification. The woman was convicted of
aggravated sexual assault against a mentally retarded person in 1992. She
was put on probation and ordered into therapy after her conviction for
beating, tying up, penetrating and pouring boiling water on her victim.
She faces high risk classification because of fantasies she revealed in
therapy involving a 12-year-old boy.
