S.C. Supreme Court reverses its own ruling
The state Supreme Court on Monday unanimously reversed its earlier decision
to grant a new trial to a woman convicted of criminal sexual conduct with
a minor.
Ms. S. said she deserved a new trial because of ineffective
assistance of counsel. The state Supreme Court upheld a York County court`s
decision for a new trial in an earlier opinion, but reversed it on Monday.
S. was convicted on the first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge
and sentenced to 20 years....
