Woman Claims Love For Alleged Victim
ROSEVILLE, MICHIGAN - A 28-year-old Michigan woman and a 13-year-old boy
claim they love each other and want to marry.
But Rebecca S. of Roseville faces two counts of statutory rape for
allegedly having sex with the teenager.
The relationship allegedly came to light after the boy's parents found her
love letters under his bed.
Police say Rebecca S. and the unidentified boy, a family friend of the
suspect, told investigators their feelings were mutual.
But Assistant Prosecutor Patricia Fresard (freh-ZARD') says love has
nothing to do with it, calling the alleged desire for marriage
"irrelevant."
Rebecca S. has been bound over for trial on two counts of third-degree,
criminal sexual conduct involving a child.
If convicted Rebecca S. faces up to 15 years in prison on each count.
