Stepmom Won't Go To Jail
LENOIR, NORTH CAROLINA -- A 27-year-old Burke County woman has avoided a
prison term by admitting to a sexual relationship with her 14-year-old
stepson. S.M. ... who gave birth to a child fathered by the
boy... has pleaded guilty to taking indecent liberties with a minor... and
to sexual activity by a substitute parent. Her 25 to 30-month sentence was
suspended, but she was ordered to undergo five months of intensive
probation. S.M. was indicted in Caldwell County on a variety of related
charges early this year.
