Homeless mom pleads not guilty
SUN STAFF REPORTS
A homeless woman pleaded not guilty to charges that she
brought her two daughters to Las Vegas and forced them into prostitution.
Connie B., 34, is fighting the federal charges
relating to her children, who were 6 and 9 when the alleged crimes occurred.
She was arraigned Thursday and trial is set for Dec. 2.
Connie B. was arrested in Oklahoma City and transported here
this week. The children are with a relative, officials said.
The FBI said the girls told agents they were forced to
perform oral and straight sex, and at least one was sodomized. The government
said medical reports find that the girls suffered traumatic injuries from
repeated sexual molestation.
Connie B. remains in the North Las Vegas Detention Center
without bail.
