Florida Justice Wages War on Juvenile Sex Offenders
Judge goes against advice of expert witnesses and rules boy be committed

Marathon, Florida
22 September 2010
A circuit court judge ruled that the boy, age 13 at the time of his offense, be committed to a juvenile sex offender facility for what is legally termed "sexual battery."
The boy's younger brother, now 11, was sentenced to probation for "lewd or lascivious behavior."
Two younger boys were also involved in the sexual contacts that went on for several months. Under cross-examination on the stand, the oldest boy maintained he was not forceful and they were willing participants.
