(GREENSBURG)- A Westmoreland County woman who allegedly had an affair with
one of her special education
students is trading her teaching career for a probationary sentence.
Maureen Z. has agreed to
surrender her state teaching certificate to avoid a trial and possible jail
sentence on charges of corrupting a minor.
Police said she had an affair with a 16-year-old male student in 1995.
The 39-year-old Maureen Z. was put on two years' probation. The charge could
eventually be erased from her record.
