Colorado officials are investigating allegations that women staffers have
had sex with boys at a privately run juvenile prison.
"It's disturbing, the reports about different kids, and different staffers,
and is serious enough we had to get out there and investigate," Colorado's
human services director, Barbara McDonnell, said yesterday. The allegations
involve the for-profit High Plains Youth Center, which opened in 1985 near
