Kalamazoo woman bound over on attempted kidnap charge
A Kalamazoo woman accused of posing as a nurse and attempting to kidnap
a baby from Bronson Methodist Hospital's maternity ward is expected to
stand trial in Kalamazoo County Circuit Court.
K.B., 27, waived her right to a preliminary examination in
Kalamazoo District Court Wednesday.
She faces a charge of attempted kidnapping, a felony punishable by up
to five years in prison. A trial date was not set.
K.B. was clad in white when she entered Bronson's BirthPlace at 1:25
a.m. June 18 and told a patient she wanted to take her newborn for
testing, police and hospital officials said.
